On Wednesday night Carlsberg and Nisha JamVwal hosted a special dinner at Olive, Mumbai to ‘Celebrate India.’ (Something Nisha’s been passionately pursuing as her jig for the past three years now apparently.) So how do I feel about a beer baron using some patriotic pull to promote his brand? Actually I’m fine with it. Somehow its a great reflection of how Page 3 works and product placement which (with a little finesse) puts us right inside our very own little Truman Show. Here are the usual suspects that showed up in various permutations of the the tri-color from their wardrobes; Aarti & Kailash Surendranath, Abhijeet, Ashok Wadhwa, Asif Adil of Diageo, Dr .Mukesh Batra, Kiran Juneja & Ramesh Sippy, Kishore Bajaj, Liliette Dubey, Mandira Bedi & Raj Kaushaul, Meena & Suresh Raheja, Mohan Murjani, Nisha Jhaveri, Poonam Dhillon,Prahlad Kakkar, Rashmi Uday Singh, Remu & Naaz Zaveri, Sandeep Chowta, Sohail Seth, Suchitra Krishnamurthy among others. It appears however that either Nina Manuel was double parked or didn’t get the dress-code memo.
P.S. Is it just me or perhaps the glitterati is really starved for some good old Page 3 action?
