Powai's New Princess

Raima Sen
International Women’s Day is on the 8th of March and you know the drill – recognizing the achievements and leadership of women. So check this out, even the Young Environmentalists Program in Powai – Mumbai, is felicitating Raima Sen with an award for Woman of the Year 2008 – 09. (Yes that’s definitely worth a snicker, but apparently the trust insists she’s made “countless contributions to the growth of a more vibrant and robust community.”)
She now joins their previously felicitated awardees, Priya Dutt (Congress leader), Sugandha Indulkar (Times Editor) and Madhu Singhji (Social worker.) I guess it never hurt to add a little glitter to your cause. Might be a good time to make a that Miss Inda speech about girl power with references to her mother Moon Moon Sen, grand-mother, the legendary actress Suchitra Sen and sister Riya Sen.
Witnesses to the ceremony will include the Sheriff of Mumbai – Sudha Chandran, Aditi Govitikar, Anusuya Dutt – Mayor of Mumbai, Preeti Hiranandani, Dr. Anjali Darade, Nandita Puri, Rael Padamsee, Anuradha Sahawney and Punam Sinah.
