The Bachchan Barbie Girl

I hear Aishwarya Rai is going to be the first Indian whose personality will inspire a Barbie creation. Celebrity Barbies are in vogue in Hollywood with a line up modeled after the likes of Diana Ross, Cher, Beyonce, Frank Sinatra, Hillary Duff, LeAnne Rimes, Elvis & Priscilla Presley, Clark Gabel, Dianna Ross lending their looks to the iconic Barbie doll. Now Aishwarya is in talks with Mattel Toys – India to seal the deal. (There’s probably a really great barbie joke in here but for now the irony is just killing me.) The Indian Barbie collection will feature costumes from Punjab, Gujarat and Rajasthan. It seems that there is also an Indian diva collection, dressed in the latest ethnic kurtas. The ‘Aishwarya’ doll will be modeled on the Devdas style.

Now when it comes to Ken, the politically correct choice would of course be Abhishek Bachchan but somehow I’m thinking Salman Khan seems more the part (but I guess then they”d be walking right into a battered barbie joke.)
