Cover girl, uncovered.

This Saturday I’m gonna conduct a little tête-à-tête with Vogue India’s fashion editor Anaita Shroff Adajania and Bollywood starlet Deepika Padukone at Infinity Mall Andheri, Mumbai since she’s gracing the cover of Vogue for the 2nd time in the July issue for 2009. Should be fun. I get to ask her all sorts of questions on style and stuff. Mostly I’m just curious what she’s like up close and personal. The vacant human doll so many Bollywood belles turn out to be or actually the sweet & smart girlie-girl she seems to be! I’ll keep you posted. (Oh and if you can think of a question you’d like me to ask her lemme know.) Here’s what she looks like in the July issue where she reveals;

Psst! Didjya hear? Last Sunday, Aamir Khan and Deepika Padukone played doubles in badminton against each other. Aamir’s team won despite the fact that Deepika was paired up with her father (the star player) Prakash Padukone while Aamir was paired up with another ace player Aparna Popat.*sigh*

    I love this photoshoot! I’m looking forward to Anaita and Deepika’s interview. Absolutely admire Anaita for what she does and have loved some of her work in Hindi films. Ask her if she has any advice for someone who’s an aspiring stylist for films/fashion magazine.

    [...] As promised here’s Deepika Padukone (if you’re still wondering how to pronounce that, she confirmed that the “e” is silent) and Vogue’s fashion editor Anahita Shroff Adajania at Landmark, Infinity Mall in Andheri (Mumbai) on Saturday with me asking all sorts of random questions at my politest best (I was hired help, what to do.) It was actually pretty entertaining to hear the store announcements in the run up to her arrival which promised that she was expected “any minute now” in a hilarious accent (and horrendous pronunciation) for about an hour. First on the scene were members of the little girl brigade (I’m guessing 6-10 years old) that showed up to see her, get their copies of Vogue autographed and then admiringly asked, “How are you so beautiful?” Super cute and she seemed genuinely fond of her mini fans when she joking replied, “Well for one, I ate all my vegetables growing up!” much to their mother’s delight! Jasmine here’s your answer! “Its really helpful to work under a stylist, give a year or two to working under someone, who’s aesthetics you feel inspire you and match up to yours closely. a degree in fashion can be a very strong foundation for your styling years.”
