The Bauchklang Beat

cover-live-in-mumbai-alt

If you happen to be in Mumbai this week Wednesday night head to Blue Frog for a mind-blowing performance by the Austrian vocal groove project (already sounds cool doesn’t it?) called Bauchklang as they launch their album featuring a selection of tracks performed in three previous nights in Mumbai. It’s hard to describe what these guys do without saying “you had to be there!” Just imagine a new-age a cappella group that consists of 6 guys, zero instruments and some sick beat boxing skills. Seriously ZERO instruments. You may find this hard to believe if you hear one of their songs because they somehow make music that sounds like a heavily produced house music track. Seriously, you have to be there.

FYI: Tickets available at Blue Frog now for 1000rs ($20) pod seating/700rs ($14) standing.

Last year when we first heard of them (thanks to Blue Frog again they jammed with the vocal drum Taufiq Qureshi, the legendary Zakir Hussain and Vivek Rajgopalan. Tune in for a sneak peak tomorrow night (Tuesday, July 14th) on 94.3 Radio One with me!
