I told you last night was intense! Apart from the gig at Blue Frog, Olive Mahalaxmi (Mumbai) saw a fair amount of glitterati action. No amount of rain could keep die hard Michael Jackson fans away from the inaugural “Playlist” listening session. I hear the evening began on a mellow note but the pace picked up quickly with the arrival of Luke Kenny, who played emcee extraordinaire (and looked a bit teary-eyed or perhaps horrified at someones dancing skills either or…) with the DJ, expertly spinning out the best tracks from MJ’s vast repertoire of music.

Interestingly Mumbai’s theater community was well represented with the presence of Raell Padamsee and Mahabanoo Modi-Kotwal. Also spotted Madhoo, Lata Patel, Rehan Shah, Jennifer Mayani, A.D. & Sabina Singh (in a super flashy toga-inspired dress) showed up fashionably late, Zeba & Rajesh Kohli and Simone & Fahad Samar.
There were um, definitely some slightly suspect fashion statements, or perhaps just a misguided effort to pay tribute to the king of pop by adopting some of his more outlandish fashions, but I’ll just leave THAT analysis up to the experts.
