So you think you can dance?

Kaytee & The Salsa India Company
Hell ya! If, that is, you’re one of the incredibly energetic Salsa India dance crew! You’ve got to hand it to him, somehow Kaytee Namgyal took his love for dancing and ran with it all the way to a major dance movement across India. There are schools and shows all over the city all the time and the best bit is all his dancers look absolutely over the moon to be on the dance floor doing their thing. Its entirely infectious and I’m now motivated to join a class! If you’re wondering what you missed, this was Zenzi Mills, Mumbai on Wednesday night, 2nd floor, full party.

Hang on though, I feel strangely compelled to explain what I was doing out on Wednesday (not that this is at all surprising to you by now I’m sure but) the fact is I’ve just turned over a new leaf (or rather turned in an old one.) I’ve decided to quit being “management” at Radio One and am moving over to a whole new virtual world (more on that later, paperwork pending!) Nobody panic I’m still gonna do my Radio Show (I LOVE my radio show) so tune in 9 to midnight Monday to Thursday on 94.3 Radio One in Mumbai and hear a whole new chirpy me. (Oh and if you happen to know anyone who wants to sponsor my show and keep English music alive on the air waves in Mumbai this would be a great time to stand up and be counted!) But I digress…
I decided to drag out my awesome friends and celebrate me new found freedom by getting utterly rocked (in a good way.)

Tequila (aye caramba)
I also knew there was a dance performance planned upstairs thanks to Ashwin Mushran (actor and avid salsero) and I’ve always had a good time with this crew. (Remember 26/11 they totally had my back.) I love Latin music it just makes you feel good right? But I totally wasn’t expecting to see so much talent and total bliss on one hopping dance floor. I even captured performances by a hip hop troupe (aka B-boyers like the Redbull dancers) that’s currently in the semi-finals on India’s Got Talent and of course a sassy all girl performance of the cha-cha-cha, sexy style! So much fun :) Check it out!
As you can see my editing (and um…lighting) skills still need an upgrade, but I’ll get there! Also check out Kaytee’s tribute to rock music since he grew up listening to rock music!

Salsa time!
And eventually I wrapped things up (well on the way to Polly Esther’s anyway) with a spin on the swing! Yes they actually have swings inside Zenzi Mills, practically on the dance floor. How cool is that?!
