Nishka Lulla, star bright.

Nishka Lulla launched her label “Nisshk” today over brunch at Fuel, a fashion store at Chowpatty. (Let me just say, you have to have some serious friendly goodwill in the industry to see this kind of celebrity turnout.) Spotted: Neetu Chandra, Sameera Reddy, Shirya Saran, Celina Jaitley (all in Nishka designs), Juhi Chawla, Esha Deol, Vikram Phadnis, Aftab Shivdasani and of course her proud mummy Neeta Lulla.

Esha Deol

Esha Deol

Um, is it just me or Esha Deol looking a tad chubby? (What’s that they say about fits that flatter the figure?) Didn’t get the memo about brunch attire or perhaps no free dress? Meow I know, I’m sorry. But just look at her!

Nishka’s collection is youthful, stylish, vibrant, trendy and fresh targeting women from 15 to 29. (Dang don’t you hate it when they do that? Throw everyone over 30 in a different target group? Don’t mind me, I’m not bitter, just decaffeinated.)

Nishka says, “I have used a lot of georgette, knit, cotton and laces with lots of frills for that complete feminine chic look. I have also used shibori for an Indian touch. It’s a collection which I am sure all young women would love to wear including me!”

Celina Jaitley

A round of applause please for Celine Jaitley who has finally got it right, and how! Just the right amount of make up, a super chic (and still sexy) dress and totally working the new haircut. Va va voom right? (I did the before and after just so you can see for yourself what I’m talking about.)

And ladies! I am loving the shoes, especially the hot pink and purple, super funky!

Didjya Know?
Nishka won the ‘Creative Excellence Award’ for the ‘Barbie all Doll’d – up!’ show at the Lakme India Fashion Week 2009 where many of India’s leading designers participated to design an outfit for Barbie for her 50th anniversary. Her winning dress was worn by Katrina Kaif. Currently she is working on the next venture of Rajshri Productions. Also this year, Nishka will be designing the garments for the Gods and Goddesses at the Iskcon temple for two auspicious occasions.

considering the comment after this line, i assume this is a sound byte given to you by ms lulla’s PR machinery? judging by the celebrities who wore her designs, these clothes are downright tacky!

agree on celina – she looks gorgeous, sans the bronzer and eyeliner (and a bit like nafisa ali, no?).

re esha – i think she actually looks skinner than before – i bet she’s hiding some six pack beneath her shirt. but that shirt is way too small and short for her, and the jeans are not doing her much good, either – most unflattering.

Haha yup got that from the press note!
So right about her looking like Nafisa Ali she really should keep this new look suits her SO much better… Esha should have worn a dress she looks much more feminine in those….
