Satya Paul’s drunk polka.

Maya by Satya Paul
Satya Paul’s Autumn Winter collection is a kaleidoscopic of color called ‘Maya.’ According to the press note: “The inspiration behind the collection is the ‘illusory’ world. This life is portrayed by the use of colors on fabric as if refracted through a prism.” Sounds heavy. Basically its designer Puneet Nanda’s (that’s Satya Paul’s son btw) way of courting glamor and fantasy in the form of colorful patterns on saris and garments. (At this point anything that looks the diametrical opposite of Mallika Sherawat in a tarty cat suit is fine by me!) Damages: 15,000rs – 30,000rs ($311 – $622)

More from the PR folks: “The product line comprises of contemporary garments, fabrics, and saris. In this collection the designer has reflected all aspects of the Satya Paul look – color, print and design. They form an integral part of the Satya Paul Design philosophy. Another facet of the collection – the famous Satya Paul polka, is now drunk and dancing in ecstasy – a celebration of life.”
Woah there young polka, don’t waste your life away on the bottle too soon. Lol.

Puneet Nanda
Psst! this is Puneet Nanda. What’s with the hair yo?

The inspiration behind the collection is the ‘illusory’ world. This life is portrayed by the use of colors on fabric as if refracted through a prism. It is designer Puneet Nanda’s way to court glamour and fantasy in the form of colorful patterns on saris and garments.
With a deft use of pattern and color, a beautiful collection of easy to wear pieces make up Maya… ornamental designs, layers, shadows and contrasting elements render Maya a bold graphic look. The product line comprises of contemporary garments, fabrics, and saris.
In this collection the designer has reflected all aspects of the Satya Paul look – color, print and design. They form an integral part of the Satya Paul Design philosophy.
Another facet of the collection – the famous Satya Paul polka, is now drunk and dancing in ecstasy – a celebration of life.
About Satya Paul
The iconic brand Satya Paul is known globally for its signature prints, ingenuity of designs & vivid color palette, classifying them as one amongst the very few distinct labels, which have not just pioneered a category but have become the identity that defines an entire class. Satya Paul’s evolution from a quintessential Indian designer sari label to a global brand for international couture is rested upon the intrinsic value of proactive response to the entire universe it operates in and not just the fashion fraternity.
The fluid form, flamboyant use of colors and experimental dashes are key-defining elements that render the label a creative freedom to use the entire universe as a canvas, to churn out works of art and not just fashion garments.
Puneet Nanda is the Designer behind ‘Satya Paul’ and has imbibed his creativity and design capabilities from his father, the famous artist, Satya Paul. Puneet is primarily a self-taught artist, whose understanding spans multiple disciplines, from art to design to music. He began his career in 1982 and has been involved in a gamut of design activities from photography, graphic design, textiles, and finished garments to choreographing International Fashion shows for world famous designers, deeming him a true multimedia artist. Puneet’s collections are a reflection of the artist and art curator within him. Each sari is a 6-yard canvas for Puneet where he paints and designs all that influences and inspires him.
The inception of the Satya Paul Design Studio dates back to 1985, at a time when the Indian fashion Industry was still at a nascent stage; it immediately established itself with the originality and quality of its printed fabrics and garments. Ever since, the brand has traversed milestones not just in personal growth but also in elevating the benchmark for the entire industry.
Today, the multi faceted label has a varied range of extended product lines which comprises of saris, bridal wear; fusion and western clothing consisting of scarves, bags, accessories and fabrics.
Genesis Colors Pvt. Ltd. is the holding company of Satya Paul, the first Indian company to have ushered in the corporatization of the Indian Fashion Industry. Satya Paul creations are retailed from 30 exclusive Satya Paul boutiques, 9 Samsaara boutiques, a select dealer network throughout India and overseas and can be ordered online from www.satyapaul.com.
