The 7 year itch (and a million memories)

August 21st 2009 was my last day at Radio One. 7 years imagine?! I joined as a rookie DJ (aka Radio Jockey. By the way, I HATE that they call us “RJs” in India, who the hell came up with that anyway?!) on the afternoon shift (lol I remember we called it 225 for lack of a better name because um… it ran from 2 to 5pm, brilliant eh?) I’ll never forget doing my first drive-time show ”Horn Ok Please” and kick-starting that loyal listener radio club dubbed ”Going Solo” back when we were GO 92.5 FM – The Sound of Mumbai. (I know you remember the time, so do I baby. So. Do. I!)

Psst! This was me back in the day lol!

But nobody panic, I’ll still be doing my show Malini till Midnight 9-midnight on 94.3! (Well so far anyway, um… anyone wanna help keep International music alive on radio?! I need sponsors.) I promise if you help me I’ll get you a big fat chocolate cake just like this one. With extra icing, and cupcakes on the side.

How to have your cake, and eat it too!

Anyhow, like I said I’m joining the Bloody Cool re[v]olution over at Channel [v] as a creative consultant. I get to head up editorial for their spanking new website channelv.in (currently beta testing.) I’ll keep you posted :)
