Hot chicks and fast cars, no brainer right? Fiat Diesel thought so too and got Neha Dhupia, Anchal Kumar, Alecia Raut and Sandhya Shetty to take their cars across the finish line after someone else drove over 10,000kms (the drive flagged off from Fiat’s Ranjangaon plant on 27th October 09) and traveled through 16 states in Fiat’s multi-jet diesel engine cars Linea, Punto, Palio and Fiat 500 over a period of one and a half months (hardly seems fair :) I hope they at least got a picture with the PYTs!)

Neha Dhupia said, “When Fiat approached me to be a part of this epic drive I was very excited. The drive is an extremely innovative way of showcasing Fiat’s stylish yet sturdy cars and I immediately got drawn towards the interesting concept. I myself have had many fond memories with my very own Fiat Palio which was gifted to me when I was crowned Miss India in 2002. It was for this reason that I also called on three of my friends Aanchal, Alecia, Sandhya from the fashion fraternity, who are equally passionate about cars. It was very exciting for all of us to take the Fiat beauties across the finish line of this drive of grandeur and ultimate endurance. ”

This might be a rather bad idea by Overdrive. It sounds like we’ll have yet a further format for libraries to select from. So what I see is that libraries will have much less choice as it has to purchase ePub, audio, & now Kindle. So that is not going to be good overall for patrons. I for one do not want to see a book I want in Kindle only when there is an ePub version just because someone with a Kindle requested it that way. The way things work now is fine. They way they might work won’t be fine. Far from it. What this is going to do is possibly cut the amount of new eBooks at libraries in half.
