I woke up this morning to a very sweet message on Facebook from Ramya Kumaraswamy who reads (and likes!) my blog. She was giving me the heads up on a kinda cool website called Republic of Brown started by Geetanjali Dhillon. So of course I checked it out. I love that India is booming, I love that people are noticing and I love that the about us section of this website states that proudly. “Have you noticed that Indo-cool is everywhere these days? Indians have taken things up a notch in the entertainment and lifestyle scene creating hip fashion, cutting-edge music, entertaining films, powerful literature and so much more. The world has taken notice. And this is only the beginning. At Republic of Brown we’re bringing it together for you in one place, delivered right to your inbox – the coolest Indian-inspired fashion, movies, music and art from around the globe.”
I like it! Go team brown! (Funnily enough that is also what my boyfriend and his beer pong teammate at Harvard call themselves, team brown. Lol.)

So check out the Republic of Brown for everything from “An Intimate Glimpse into Bollywood” by photog Anusha Yadav (hey small world I know that girl, she’s the one that took this picture of me!) to cool samples of Karsh Kale tunes and an artist profile. Only thing is I can’t tell how often its updated and there doesn’t seem to be a whole lot in the archive, but props for starting the republic Geetanjali, I’m a proud citizen!
Psst! Abhishek Kapoor (director of Rock On!) there’s a funky picture of you on their website, bet he’ll get a kick out of that :)
