On Thursday night Ashutosh Pathak (one of the many talented brains behind Blue Frog) launched his new album called “Petri Dish” featuring songs to do with the many moods of (what we can safely assume is my favorite topic) partying and nightlife! 🙂 Not only that, he did it to the funky beat of trip hop and electronic dance replete with a synchronized light display on stage. In fact every single light bulb was synced to a note on his keyboard. (He told me this with much glee earlier that day when I was over at the Blue Frog studio for a Shoppers Stop recording, yes that’s why the voices sound so familiar at SS, its me and Nadir Khan the cool cats from Go 92.5 FM!) Cool eh?

Plus to top it all he had some fabulous guest singers like Suman Sridhar (Sridhar Thayil) and Anushka Manchanda (Shkabang and much other fame and how cute was she looking btw?!) He even managed a very futuristic performance with Monica Dongra (Shaa’ir + Func) beamed onto a wispy screen. (OB1 you’re time has come.) And guess who got it all on video? 🙂
And Oh My God, if you were there you totally could not have missed this dude and I’m sorry but I have to call him out on this… but wait, what shall we call him? Uncle Kracker, Daddy Yankee, Puff Daddy? Take your pick, but he’s apparently been on the scene since the early 80s and there’s just no stopping him! I’m impressed and horrified at the same time. If you see me in a hoodie 10 years from now attempting to be “cool” please someone shoot me in the head. Thanks.
