Ok, so you LOST me.

SPOILER ALERT
DON’T READ THIS IF YOU DON’T KNOW HOW LOST ENDS!

LOST

LOST

So this is how it all ends? They die? I’m disappointed. I was hoping that when they tried to fix the Island’s magnetic issues and Juliet fell down the hole and whacked the crap out of that bomb to make it go off they may have actually managed to prevent their plane from crashing to begin with. Which would in turn explain this alternate reality we started seeing unfold and I’d still be ok with the whole Sliding Doors theme where you can’t change who you ultimately end up meeting in life etc etc. But no such luck. It’s like I just spent 6 years watching The Sixth Sense… Doh! Your thoughts?
P.S. Some folks have tried to explain the finale here, here and here. Yes, I get it but I still don’t like it. Can you please work on another one (like the whole Twilight thing from Edward’s perspective, just a script will do fine, I can imagine the rest.) Go on, get lost. While we wait, here are some fun lost-related videos to watch :)

That finale was dissappointing, but to see everyone together again was awesome(and sad)!

  2. Nida Says:

I thought exaaactly the same and that somehow Faraday and his physics would solve getting rid of the “present-crashed-on-the-island” universe in true mind-boggling Lost fashion. “Theyre all dead” is suuuuch a cop out ending! Way too many major unanswered questions too. But according to MTV News, the creators are going to answer random things that went unexplained in the special edition DVD set. (Sorry if the links/videos in your post already mention that. I didn’t get a chance to check ‘em out.)

I had a feeling the finale was going to be lame and ambiguous, but still had hope. If anything though, the journey was definitely fun.

Really? I LOVED the finale…but I have also been reading Doc Jensen’s recaps this seasons, and he always puts everything in perspective. Check out his take on the finale here: http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20313460_20387946,00.html It will all make sense :P

  4. iSayThis Says:

Devastatingly boring! Incoherent and a shameless display of feverish writing. More corruption of idle minds.

  5. Malini Agarwal Says:

Also how did Linus go from being insanely possessive about running the island to a happy #2 to Hurley?! And wtf was the smoke monsters name? Lol
I wish someone had told Locke what a bad-ass he became, he might have liked that.

  6. Mamatha Says:

I loved the finale..except for Kate ignoring Sawyer completely in the end!! I get it that it could have been just 2 or 3 days in Island time since Juliet’s death but still….even though I didn’t like Jack from the beginning…somehow could not get over his death scene for 2 days. It was so disturbing! Ben was always like that, sometimes good and sometimes very bad….and all he ever wanted was to be the guardian of that island and he somehow got that being #2.

  7. Malini Agarwal Says:

I love the fact that the writers refer to Ben’s creepy voice in the SNL Top 10 #WIN

  8. E Says:

Do you mean the Letterman top 10, because that was very well done :D

The thing is…they would never have been able to answer all the questions and satisfy every fan query in 2.5 hours. The writers decided instead to focus on the big picture of the series, which has always been redemption. As for Ben being number 2 to Hurley, that was his redemptive action, his form of atonement for his years of plotting. As shown by the Sideways world, he is capable of being a decent human being. Again, this is all explained much better by Doc Jensen.

The one thing that will always bug me: POLAR BEAR.

    Another great post-finale link: http://armchairmogul.wordpress.com/2010/05/26/armchair-response-to-college-humors-losts-unanswered-questions-that-were-actually-answered/

Yea, I’m a LOST geek like that, sorry!

Lost!! A perfect metaphor the present generation!

  11. anand Says:

what a let down.the producers owe all the LOST fans a better explaination.
A light in the heart of the island is not satisfying enough. This is the most ridiculous ending to one of the greatest shows ever.
Give us some answers – i’m still lost.

  12. anand Says:

basic questions like whats the deal with pregnant women dying on the island, or what exactly did Charles Widmore want on/from the island, the entire time travel nonsense, what were the “others” and Ben doing on the island in the first place, what was the Dharma initiative’s ultimate motive, who were the temple people introduced in season 6 – nothing of this has been explained clearly . its all just guess work.
I repeat, the LIGHT in the HEART of the island is the MOST PATHETIC explaination ever. How come it was never found by anyone – Ben, the Dharma Initiative, Daniel ( 16 years on the island), Richard( Been living since like FOREVER).

  13. anand Says:

Ben – the best character of LOST – completely wasted.
And Jack emerging as the ultimate saviour/hero – so predictable and so completely unimaginative.

  14. R Says:

Um…they are not all dead all along. Rewatch the finale….the alternate reality is them dead trying to find each other to move forward. The flash sideways is removed from time…they die when they die and they are in this universe where they are forced to remember these important people in their lives and what they meant to each other in order to move forward towards the “heaven” that is not associated with any religion in particular (hence the presentation of all the religious symbols at the end).

  15. AmitL Says:

They do?That ensures that there’ll never be a Hindi movie based on this serial.:)

  16. Kaviani Says:

I hated that show. Anything so hopelessly convoluted that it requires subtitles to tell you what the hell is going on is not worth the trouble.

  17. Miss Malini » Blog Archive » Mini Series Mania: The Sopranos Ending Slayed Me. Says:

[...] and I can’t help but think that the creators of LOST could have done WAY better with their season finale had they taken a leaf out of David Chase’s book. Tony Saprano agreed? Psst! After 24, Dexter, [...]
