Something Relevant Live @ The Fringe
One of my favorite Bombay bands is currently on tour in Edinburgh and their dishy saxophonist Ryan Sadri agreed to send me a tour diary, in case you too were missing the eye candy, enjoy :)
Hey M!!
How’s you doin?!
For the past 3 days we’d been split up staying with friends in 3 separate locations. Now we’re just settling in to our home for the next month which is a really nice 3 BHK pad! Just about getting used to the typical British weather. Great spots of sun with a few occasional splashes. So we’ve got our latest STR clothing line coming out this summer here in Edinburgh! For starters check out our Feels Good 2B Live sweatshirts which we’ve been walking all over town in. The local radio has already picked up on them… “this bunch of guys in black jackets pimping around town!”

our new STR sweatshirts
Other than turning the Edinburgh streets into our own ramp, we’ve been chilling at bars, parks, jamming on the streets with musicians we bump into, catching some live acts. The Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival is on this week. There are stages all over the city! Watched an insane gig… “Fred Wesley & JB (James Brown) Horns.” Typical old school funk. Fred Wesley is a legendary Trombone player who was one of the original members of James Brown’s band. We hung out and chatted with the band before and after the gig. Huge inspiration!!

Fred Wesley gig venue
The venue of this gig was inside a tent at the Princes Street Gardens which is just below the Edinburgh Castle… was a stunning sight!’. We’ve also been heavily flyer-ing about our gigs at cafes & bars and doing some radio spots.

Just running off for rehearsals which commence today. Our first gig is coming up on the 5th so gearing up now! Keep you posted. Oh and please have a look at our newly designed website – www.somethingrelevant.org which has a few blog entires by Al & Stu.
Thanks a ton.
lotsa love,
R

We ended up jamming with this street musician for about half an hour! Earned quite a few pennies for Martin ;)
