So speaking of food and foodies guess what a buddy of mine has just started? It’s restaurantweekindia.com where starting September 6th (for a week) you get to eat at some of Mumbai’s hottest restaurants for the bargain price of 1000rs*. Restaurant Week Mumbai is inspired by Restaurant Weeks across the globe in cities such as New York and London, and is a week-long celebration of the culinary scene in the city. What you get is a three-course prix fixe menu at the city’s most aspirational restaurants. In Mumbai that includes: Stella (The Leela Kempenski), Indigo, Tote, Botticino (Trident Bandra Kurla), Koh by Ian Kittichai (Intercontinental, Marine Drive) which I just told you about, India Jones (Trident, Nariman Point) and San Qi (Four Seasons Mumbai). All you have to do is go online starting today and make a reservation! Here’s their Facebook Page.
*Excluding taxes and service charge.

Yes if you want to blow up 35000 Rs for a family of four dining out everyday …sampling the 1000 rs per plate plus tax menu.makes it Rs 4000 for a family of four.
when will we get the Maths straight?

I was so excited ..thought if they serve you fixed portions , one could afford to go to most of the participating restaurants, order 2 and share.
If the portions were teeny weeny well then order an extra dish and pay extra for that.

Called up the restaurants and asked whether four adults could share two meals!
But No Sirree , No sharing
whether the food goes waste or not is of no consequence
and the site says the restaurants are not making a profit out of this!!
    Come on!
believe me , they are running a promotion but totally on their own terms!
Food of their choice/Portion size of their choice/30 %off ..plus tax
    No Profit,..Hah!
think before you land up or wish for the week in your city!
If you want to go to the restaurant otherwise, you may end up ordering food to your taste( not what they want you to taste) and for a family of four end up with a bill of less than 3000..
THINK!!The organisers needs to be more proactive in this and get them to serve the food in the spirit of the week

Neerja – 3 posts later, I am sure you realize that these aren’t regular restaurants you are talking about. It is still considerably cheaper than their regular fares. They won’t participate in the event only to make a loss. Would you if you were in a business?

Stella makes the best wood fired pizzas in the city!! (haven’t tried Cali pizzas in bandra yet) and indigo is an institution of it’s own just like olive.. Tote’s location can only be beat by vie or aurus and even then it won’t be comparable so Come the heck on!!

It’s a good initiative and if you can’t commend the organizers don’t be going all out only to diss em?

If anyone thought this was awesome, they should have been in Bangalore between Nov 12-21. It was the Bangalore Restaurant Week by Kingfisher and Explocity and it was awesome. Over 70 of Bangalore’s best restaurants were offerring huge discounts, plus there were fun contests, events and great prizes.

Cannot wait for the next edition.
