Clean, Modern, opaque panels, minimalist, sequined panels dresses. Gorgeous coats.

It gives me great pride to say that this collection could easily share the same runway as any international fashion house. The tailoring, design, aesthetic, textures and even colours oozed a chic and sophisticated thought process. The emphasis of the zips and the opaque paneling were attention grabbing and unique. Yet, it truly was a fashion moment when the knee length coats walked out. That one white one with a double lapel has my name written all over it.

Sexy, provocative, geometrical textures, Sequined socks, felt layer texture. Smart

Namrata had a wow moment and a cute moment on ramp yesterday. The wow came from the red plunging neckline, backless sequined knit dress that made all the men in the room gasp for air. The cutest moment was Namarata kissing her daughter (who I affectionately call Little Joshipura) on the ramp. The collection had a lot of strong pieces, especially the geometrical texture coats and blouses.

Draped, Bias cut, playful, fun, 1920s, Fur accessories, Sheila Ferreira

The most fun show so far, he really is the high priest of fashion. His collection offered a variety of slinky form fitting bias cut dresses. You could make out these dresses were conceived on a mannequin and that’s the reason they look great on a body. The fabrics and print were leaning towards that old world 1920s charm, especially with the braided hair dos. Yet the ultimate showstopper was the man himself in true James style he snuck out onto the ramp and burst out of a bevy of models to the tune of Sheila ka Jawani!

Pinks nudes, nets, chickankari, Kashmiri Embroidery, Male models. Gotha work.

Manish knows how to make interesting Indian Ethnic wear. Period. For this collection he used the help of chickankari embroiders at Mijwan (a Kaife Azmi village development project). Long anarkali net kurtas with a mixture of gotha work and broad borders sashayed down the runway. The colours were the prettiest and the palest of pinks and crèmes for the women. For the men the Nehru collared sherwani looked more like jackets in darker hues. Honestly it was great to see some testosterone on the ramp! On a side note, only Manish can bring in the crowds, yesterday’s show more than house full and the only show stopper to be seen was Manish Himself!

Psst! James Ferreira invited MissMalini and crew for a fabulous sit down dinner over champagne at the Italian restaurant in the Imperial Hotel. He also shared his support for a charity close to his heart cutely interwoven with the hare and the tortoise tale. Couple that with his little jig to Sheila Ki Jawani and you’ve got a keeper! James as they say in B-town, you are too cute 🙂
