Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2
Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2

May is one of the most exciting months in Hollywood with the summer blockbuster movies right around the corner. Here’s a look at some of the most anticipated films (in no particular order) releasing in the next few months!

1. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 – This is it people, the last Harry Potter movie! Get ready to say goodbye to Harry, Ron and Hermione in the extravagant and final installment of the incredibly popular series. For those of you who have read the books, you already know how it ends but enjoy the experience of watching it on celluloid in 3D.

2. The Tree of Life – Starring Brad Pit, Sean Penn and Jessica Chastain, this coming of age film by Terrence Malick film was announced in 2005 and is finally scheduled to release at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival. Even with the film gaining Oscar buzz since 2010 details of the storyline have been minimal.

3. Pirates of The Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides – Captain Jack Sparrow is back and is on a journey to find the Fountain of Youth. Though Johnny Depp isn’t accompanied by Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom he does have Penelope Cruz as a love interest and Ian McShane playing the notorious English pirate Blackbeard.

4. Super 8 – Steven Speilberg produces this sci-fi film directed by J.J Abrams. Set in 1979, things start to go haywire in a small Ohio town when a group of friends witness a train crash while making a super 8 movie. The movie stars Elle Fanning, Amanda Michalka & Kyle Chandler.

5. The Hangover: Part II – The boys are back and off to Bangkok for Stu’s wedding! Many rumours of crazy special appearances in the film have been doing the rounds but the makers have confirmed that there is no Mel Gibson or former U.S. President Bill Clinton. However, there is a monkey.

6. Captain America: The First Avenger – Unless you’ve been hiding in your own top secret, superhero lair, chances are you’ve heard about Marvel Comics’ Captain America’s silver screen debut. The star cast includes Natalie Portman, Stanley Tucci, Tommy Lee Jones and Chris Evans ( as Captain America) and the high point? Watching the good guys beat the crap out of the bad guys!

7. Crazy, Stupid, Love – With a stellar cast comprising of Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Julianne Moore, Marisa Tomei, Kevin Bacon and Emma Stone, why would anyone not want to see this movie?

8. X-Men First Class – Another Marvel Comics franchise slated for a June release, X-MEN: First Class takes us back in time to when their exciting story first began. Set in 1962, this prequel to the first three movies stars a host of superstars including Kevin Bacon, January Jones and Rose Byrnes. Watch the story of one time friends and now arch nemesis Professor X and Magneto unravel-the film is rumored to be the first of a new trilogy-in what promises to be an action-packed adventure till the very last frame.

9. Cowboys and Aliens – Touted to be the runaway sleeper hit of the season the film is loosely based on the 2006 graphic novel of the same name. The movie has been directed by Jon Favreau and stars Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford and Olivia Wilde.

10. Friends With Benefits Justin Timberlake. Do I need to say more? Ok, Justin Timberlake and Milas Kunis are like the title suggests friends with benefits and of course their relationship starts to get complicated. The plot sounds similar to the recent Ashton Kutcher – Natalie Portman starrer No Strings Attached, but we’ll still watch it for Justin.

Personally, I can’t wait to watch the last Harry Potter film! What movie are you excited to watch?
