British design house, Paul Smith, showed off a collection of clean and clear line with lots of colour-blocking at the recent London Fashion Week. Straight fitting trousers, whip-thin belts at the waist, crisp white suits and tie-dye shirts were some of the key elements for next season in this collection. In fact, there was a marked emphasis on trousers in various style – right from slim pants to cropped trousers in a boyish cut, high-waisted trousers and wide tailored pants – they all found their way into the Paul Smith line, giving it an androgynous slant.

Of course, the biggest trend was colour-blocking where a turquoise jacket was paired with a black shirt and olive-green trousers, olive shirts were teamed with teal blue pants and white jackets, butter-cup yellow skirts with ivory blouse and bright blue jackets were worn over rust shirts and powder-blue pants. Smith also showed off a wide range of well-fitted tailored jackets and skirts that flirted below the knees.

A truly chic and wearable line for Spring 2012.
