Compared to the usual theatrical extravaganzas the fashion world is treated to, the Manish Arora show at the Paris Fashion Week was a rather toned-down affair. He scrimped on the over-the-top accessories and actually brought out a collection that was more wearable on a daily basis than a collection that was targeted only for Lady Gaga, Nikki Minaj and Rihana.

Keeping his penchant for rainbow hues in tact, Manish chose them in florescent hues of green, pink and yellow. They were then teamed with psychedelic swirled patterns, neon prints and lots of bling in the form of metallic glitter and shine. A recurring theme in terms of prints were the photos of visibly happy crowds (probably at a music concert) flailing their hands in the air. This was spotted on jackets, dresses, shorts and floor-length skirts.

Keeping his silhouettes slim and fitted to a large degree, Manish said that his main inspiration in this collection was the wide spectrum of colours of the human skin. Hence, we saw him showing off his model’s (of various ethnic origins and skin-tones) skin through sheer fabrics in a lot of his garments.
