Once again my fantabulous wedding planners Marry Me – The Wedding Planners called me (sounding excited) with an idea to do a pre-wedding shoot for me and Nowshad. I, of course being trigger happy (and a total poser) was immediately trilled! Nowshad took a little warming up – but as you can see – also got into it (with loads of compliments for his expressions to boot! *Lol*) Much love and gratitude goes to Rahul de Cunha and Deepa de Sa from Tree Media and Extensions for their enthusiasm, patience and absolutely fantastic photography! They somehow captured both our love of Mumbai and each other *blush, blush* with sweetness, reality, bursts of colour and fun – kinda like our relationship actually :)

PS. Brides-to-be I highly recommend doing something like this before your wedding, we plan to add these to our wedding decor in Goa and save them for posterity, besides the kids with love it! xoxo

Malini & Nowshad Pre-Wedding Shoot

RD: When Malini and Nowshad asked us to do their Pre Wedding Shoot, we (naturally) jumped at the opportunity. They wanted us to capture the essence of the Maximum City, Mumbai, as well as some of them simply enjoying each other’s company. They wanted it to be different, they wanted it to be quirky, most important they wanted… to have fun! Lets have a look at what we captured…

RD: We started the day off at this very unusually RED building in Horniman Circle, which we thought was perfect because it blended well with Malini’s favourite colour… PINK! Throw in some sweet treats and this very sweet couple and here’s what we got…

RD: The archways of Horniman Circle were our next stop for the day. We weren’t quite sure what we could get Malini and Nowshad to do here, so we just handed them the props and they made some quirky, fun picture with them. Couples that are up for anything? Love ‘em!

RD: Our second location for the day was Asiatic Library. We thought the sun rising from behind this beautiful iconic building would be perfect… and we were right as it turned into a lovely location. Being a library we asked them to carry a book each, as you can see Malini did carry a book, but Nowshad prefers the digital kind :) A game of Scrabble and some bubble fun followed… I think it was because the Apple iPad ran out of juice… Nowshad I hope you’re now convinced the hardbound books are a better option :)

RD: Candice from Marry Me Weddings found this bright Pink Ambassador roaming the streets of Bandra and Malini (yes her favorite colour is Pink) was only too happy to shoot a few image in it :) The Pink car, the Blue backdrop and this very lovely couple… here’s a sneak peak :)

Special Mention: Candice, you are such a sweetheart, thank you for finding this gorgeous Amby for our shoot and surprising me with it. Srimoyi Bhattacharya thank you sooo much for lending us your hot pink wheels for this shoot! I LOVE it! (Nowshad, I want one!)

RD: The next stop for Malini & Nowshad’s pre engagement shoot took us to Kotachiwadi, Charni Road in Girgaon. The Old Portuguese styled houses and quaint lanes made for a perfect backdrop. As usual Malini and Nowshad were a joy to work with – always ready with a smile and happy to try anything we asked. (Kotachiwadi was also where Nowshad had to prove his love to his Queen of hearts and that h­­­­e was no Joker but the real deal!)

RD: An afternoon nap and a change of clothes and we were ready for our last location, and what a typical Mumbai location it was – crowded, colourful and full of people – Juhu Beach on a Sunday evening! We wanted to capture all the colour that Juhu had to offer so we had Malini and Nowshad have a bit of everything from eating colourul gola’s, to fortune telling robots to multicolored wind spindles. But our favorite shot (from the entire day we think) has to be of them walking into the sunset, colourful balloons in hand. We love the way the light filters through them…

So there you are… a great mixture of some quirky and fun photos, some lovely city backdrops and a good helping of playful fun photography. Malini and Nowshad thank you so much for asking us to shoot your pre wedding pictures, both Deepa and I really enjoyed working with you. None of this would be possible without Marry Me Weddings, Candice thank you for taking the trouble to locate all the props and for all the coordination and planning.
