Time Out Food Awards

Time Out Food Awards

Last week we told you all about the inaugural Time Out India Food Awards 2011, where you get to vote for your favourite restaurants in India – and now, here’s your chance to get right into the action and see your votes at work! MissMalini.com is giving away two passes to the exclusive final awards ceremony being held on December 6th, 2011 at the Taj Lands End in Mumbai. Be among the first to know which restaurant is crowned Best in India, and among the lucky few who get to hobnob with confirmed celebrity guests Siddhartha Mallya, Lisa Hayden, Shahana Goswami, Kalki Koechlin, Mahie Gill, Konkona Sen Sharma, Abhishek Kapoor and Rahul Bose. Still not satisfied?

Stick around and groove to fresh beats spun out by DJ Clement and DJ Nasha, as well as dance performances by Astad Deboo and percussion performances by Singari Melam. The highlight of the show, however, is bound to be a live performance by the UK’s Nathan “Flutebox” Lee.

Described as “doing for the flute what Jimi Hendrix did for the guitar,” and among the “top 100 things in the planet” (wowza!) Lee combines the art of flute playing and beat-boxing into a new genre he’s dubbed “flute-boxing.” Lee released his debut LP in April to critical acclaim and has graced the stage at The Le Mans Rally, Ferrari World, and the Glade Stage at Glastonbury. Next up: Mumbai! So put down your forks and submit your names today for a chance to see this musical phenom working his magic local and live!

  26. sonny Says:

    Shiro! great sushi…

  27. shashikala Says:

i feel swati snacks becos it has the best food nd It has moved with the times, without losing track of what its dedicated clientele wants. The panki is traditional fare that no other restaurant dares to try. The thin layers of besan steamed between banana leaves are exquisitely matched to the chatni and marinated chilis they come with. This seems to be a favourite with everyone. The dal dhokli is one of those sweet Gujarati dals, but thickened with dhoklas. Great, if you like dal the way it is made in Gujarat. I usually do not, but I liked this. The panoli and the satpadi roti are clearly Gujarati rotis, but are special. The latter comes with a very interesting gatta nu shak. If the malai malpura sounds like a bit of an indulgence after this, you can try out their special icecreams— coffee orange, thandai coconut, or even sugar free ginger.

  33. Nitin Lalwani Says:

  34. Alekhya Says:

My vote goes to LemonGrass in Bandra. It serves the best chicken wings. Couldn’t find ant other place anywhere in the country which can match that. And the desserts are to kill for!

  35. Prerna Arora Says:

And the award should go to….MasalaKraft, Bandra. Mainly because of the variety of cocktails and mocktails that are available here and the Long Island Ice Tea is to die for. One of the best in the city. Also because it’s reasonably priced which is a rarity in a suburb like Bandra. It also has a big screen, so if you’re a cricket fan and need a place to chill and watch, this is the place to be. Special tip: Order their Chicken Salad, last I checked it was for Rs.110 and it’s delicious! I am rooting for MasalaKraft, are you?

  36. APPALLA MYTHILLI Says:

Crunchy Bunch will win the award because its an example of perfection all over the Ahmedabad. It is my favorite restaurant as the foods are amazing with wonderful taste and the location, neatness and hygienic ways of preparing and serving food are simply outstanding.

  37. Jennifer Disawala Says:

I think Punjab Grill in Mumbai… The food is absolutely delicious if not the best… quantity & portion sizes are great.. its also kinda affordable for good occasions… ambiance is casual yet classy & I think they were innovative trendsetters with their paan flavoured drink & wet towels in a bowl…

  38. sonal Says:

Under Dogs anytime..the chilled out atmosphere, rocking evironment and excellent food along with indoor games makes it an excellent place to be in

  39. Ashish Gandhi Says:

i think Indigo in Palladium is awesome… the wooden ambiance, open kitchen, melenge of smells & comfortable seating make it an extraordinary & sensual experience… to top it off the food is to die for!!! their pulled pork & beef burgers are out of this world… i would actually say all the Indigo’s are excellent… but this one in particular is my favourite
