Mumbai’s well-heeled witnessed the launch of Simone Khambatta’s resort-wear brand ‘Simone‘ at Mumbai’s latest hot-spot OPA in Juhu, last evening. The young designer specializes in resort wear like bikinis, beach cover-ups, lounge wear and clubbing outfits. The collection is geared to keep you covered through day and night-time activities, everything that you would require at a resort destination.
“My collection is rich in colour, detail and imagination and is guaranteed to make you stand out in a crowd,” promises the peppy young girl. “I derive my inspiration from all that is mystical and magical, which then reflects in my edgy and surreal garments,”she adds, making them ideal for trend-setters and for those who love to make a statement. Simone’s garments are all about individual expression, they are pretty and sexy at the same time and targeted at those who love the art of dressing up.
In fact, though she didn’t have a showing of her clothes, a number of her famous friends showed up in her creations. Among them were Pia Trivedi, Carol Gracias, Binal Trivedi, Soniya Mehra, Esha Deol and Anushka Manchanda – all of whom dazzled in vibrant ensembles from the collection.
Also seen raising a toast to Simone’s new website were Ashwini Deo, Aquinn Pais, Archana Vijay, Shveta Salve, Monica Dogra, Ritwik Bhattacharya, Lubna Adams, Ronit Roy, Bhavna Sharma, Smiley Suri, Amy Jackson and Abhishek Kapoor.
