Shrek on the Runway
Shrek on the Runway

Day 2 at IKFW and the kiddies got even better than day 1 on the ramp. I’m guessing they are now used to the lights and have mastered their head ramp poses. There weren’t many celebrities on day 2, but it didn’t really matter because all the child models were the real show stoppers of the show. Actually, I lie, the BIGGEST show stopper for day 2 was none other that Shrek who walked for Zoop (by Titan)! Yes he had all the kids and our very own Ranjit Rodericks clamoring to take a picture with him. Here are all the highlights of each collection from the second day.

Niharika

Funky, vibrant, colorful and a whole lot of bling, that would sum up Niharika’s IKFW collection. Little girls who like to be edgy with a whole lot of attitude will drive their mom’s crazy to buy these garments.  Some garments were ill fitted but that was probably due to the lack of time to custom make clothes for the tiny tots. We loved the full sequined blue dress for teen age girls, I’m sure they’’ want to head out and go buy it

Coochhie Coo by Sagarika Goel

This collection was inspired by the Victorian era with abundant frills, peplums, and cinderella-esque gowns. It was held together with a strong red and white colour palette and a spattering of sequins. The little girls were styled with tiaras and lace gloves to really bring out the whole Victorian era. It would have been nice to see an edited version of this collection as kids these days like to be fuss free.

Ultra ready-to-wear with a healthy dose of preppy school like clothing is what 612 Ive League is all about. Coming down the runway were polo shirts with the brand’s logo, plaid skirts, floral jumpsuits and strip dresses. This collection had a lot of different concept rolled into one making it easy to put together an outfit in a jiffy.

MAX

I was most impressed with the design team at MAX because for the prince point (199rs to 599rs) the collection they showcased was cohesive, had a clear identity and most importantly was trendy. The day dresses for the girls were care free and the monster tees will be a hit with though naughty rascals. Great gift ideas for your nieces and nephews.

OMG

This was actually the launch and the show all in one, Oh My Gosh (OMG) is a ready to wear brand for kids. The collection was full of life with cute floral print frill tops and distressed jeans for teens. An Orange Goa-esque jumpsuit came down the ramp and the little girl who wore this outfit had yellow flowers in her hair, very hippie and I love that! Boys had printed tees with baggy shorts, and walked down with video games, oh Boys and their toys, what can I say!?

Zoop for Titan

There were a bevy of models (the leggy kind) at the show and that was because Alesia Raut’s son Mark was walking the ramp. She confessed that she’d not been teaching him at home, but rather than he’s pick up a few moves while watching her do rehearsals for her shows. Mark along with other child models were all showcasing the kids wear line from Titan called Zoop. These watches are scratch proof, water proof, rust proof – basically made active kid durable. They come in many colors and style for any personality so if you want you little one to learn the time, this is the perfect gift.
