Actor Anushka Sharma recently walked the ramp at the launch of Ritu Kumar‘s new flagship store in Lower Parel, Mumbai. Anushka was the showstopper for Ritu Kumar’s new collection Panchvastra.
Ritu Kumar says this collection has been a long time in the making and she has taken inspiration from various sources, throughout the years, to finally create it. According to her, it’s been a long, but layered, process.
Ritu Kumar’s inspiration behind this collection was the Mahabaratha, and Priya Tanna (editor of Vogue India), says that Ritu has done a great job in making it contemporary, without losing any of the richness. Hence, according to her, Anushka Sharma was the perfect choice for the showstopper, and she probably best symbolizes that mix of urban and traditional.
