Trudging from the main hall (where all the big shows take place) to The Source, for the Talent Box shows outside the venue (in the grounds), is something I hate doing four to five times a day at Lakme Fashion Week. But attending the young Siddharth Arya‘s show perked me up completely, and had me sitting at the edge of my seat, marveling at his fabulous prints and constructed silhouettes!

Called Cosmogene, this line  incorporated tribal and futuristic looks to make for a visually stunning Representation of human thought and emotion, as well as a tribute to technological advances made by mankind,” explains Arya. The designer kept his silhouettes heavily structured and contoured to the body, in intriguing and exaggerated shapes.

Using digital prints of ancient South American and Mexican tribal motifs, Siddharth Arya focused more on the detailing of his garments, embellishing them heavily by using springs, pieces of metal, raw jute cords, beads, tassels, shells and even feathers. At times, a number of fabrics were used for a single dress – from silks to lace and gauze.

Look out for this one… he has a bright future!
