Shahid Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Kunal Kohli came out to unveil the trailer of their upcoming film Teri Meri Kahaani, due for release in June. This is the first event after a very long time that Shahid and Priyanka have come together for, so it was interesting to see their interaction. First off, I have to say that sadly Shahid and Priyanka don’t seem to share that same flirty vibe they did previously. They hugged, they were nice to each other, they joked around… but somehow that spark was missing. However, for diehard Shahid-Priyanka fans, I’m sure some interaction is better than no interaction… and they really were fun at parts!
Priyanka was asked what she thinks of flowers and chocolates, and she said she found the whole thing boring and too cliche. So another person asked Priyanka what works for her, what makes her blush (I’m sure it was a dig at her blushing whenever Shah Rukh Khan‘s name was mentioned on Koffee With Karan). She said, “I’d like to know, too.” Then the journo posed the question to Shahid, and he said, “I don’t blush, bro.” The reporter laughingly asked, no, does he make Priyanka blush. Shahid said, “I’ve been trying for years. She only blushes for the camera – turn on the camera and just see the blush that appears, it’s amazing – ask Kunal!”
Funnily enough, the media avoided asking the two direct questions about their relationship. Maybe it’s just that the media has tired of it, or maybe it’s that they knew they wouldn’t get an answer if asked directly, so all questions skirted the topic. For example, one journo asked Kunal Kohli, “Hypothetically, would Shahid and Priyanka have dated three times in three lives?” Er, what? Pretty sure they dated three times in one life! 😉
Priyanka was also asked questions about Shah Rukh Khan and the recent tabloid reports by her “friends” suggesting her spat with Karan Johar and the star wives. Credit to the two men by her side; both Kunal and Shahid didn’t let her take the questions. Kunal promptly said, “Let’s stick to Teri Meri Kahaani only,” and when another reporter asked a similar question, Shahid just started humming and Kunal said, “Okay, everyone wants a photograph of Shahid and Priyanka.” Shahid said, “Oh, lovely!” and jumped up, thereby ending the conversation and Q&A session.
It was a fun trailer launch; good to see the two of them together again! The media seemed to enjoy it too, whistling and “waah, waah”ing during the dialogue portions of the trailer. So this one seems to be one to look forward to!
