It is not a secret that I am a fan of Sula wines. Carrying around a bagged bottle at the recent polo match may have given that one away.  Ladies and gentleman, they won me over again!

No sólo de pan vive el hombre. – Man does not live by bread alone. Oh, how the literal translation of this Spanish proverb was proven true over and over at the opening of Vinoteca by Sula. By the end of the night, I was convinced that man can however survive solely on champagne and sangria.

A guest list slip up was quickly forgotten when the bubbles from the greeting glass of champagne started dancing on my tongue. Gentlemen take note, champagne is the new flowers! What kind of a girl could resist an apology when it comes with something that signifies a celebration? And celebrate we did!

Champagne was followed by perfectly balanced sangria followed by champagne again. Somewhere in between the mission of quenching our thirst, the food began flowing from the kitchen. Rarely can I ever choose a favourite when it comes to food, but this time I was hooked from first bite. Dear Salmon and Cream Cheese pinxto, you have my heart!

Most of the pinxtos, a skewered relative of the tapa, were served on thick slices of bread and topped with a concoction of meat, cheese, vegetables or combination. One that stood out from the crowd, not only for taste but its bun, was the lamb burger. This juicy, little wonder is the perfect three biter, just enough to satisfy the burger craving.

Located on Annie Besant Road next to Sunville Building, Vinoteca by Sula is now my favourite excuse to take the Bandra – Worli Sea Link home. Nothing like a snack and sangria to end the day. Salud!
