Since I had been hearing great things about Vicky Donor, I spontaneously decided to go watch it last night and I’m glad I did! The movie was fun, but above all I really liked Ayushmann Khurrana – great acting and super-cute to boot, what’s not to like?
Ayushmann was a complete natural, I guess his experience as a VJ helped tons! Wonderful screen presence, super comic timing and those adorable dimples totally won me over. Full props to producer John Abraham for letting the lead actors take the reign – I really think Vicky Donor is a very good example of making small films with newcomers and still hitting it big.
The good news is that Ayushmann has been signed on to play the lead in Hamara Bajaj, which will have the same director and producer as Vicky Donor (Shoojit Sircar and John Abraham respectively). With a little luck and a lot of discretion while signing films, I really think Ayushmann could be Bollywood’s next big thing!
