Adnan Sami

After weeks of stressing over what on earth I would wear, the day finally arrived. On Sat 21st April I would be hosting the biggest concert in London town. An evening with Adnan Sami, Harshdeep Kaur and Harpreet Deol live in concert at London’s very own Wembley Arena with upto 10,000 people expected. Nervous much? No… I was EXCITED!!!!

Anushka Arora

I decided on a hot pink and lime green lengha… similar to the one Malaika Arora Khan wore in Anarkali Disco Chali. Designed by Monga’s in London and my hair and make up done by the wonderful Ambreen, I was ready to rock that stage.

It was an evening to be remembered. With performances by the finalist of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Harpreet Deol who sang us some amazing upbeat songs and ended his performance with Aaj Mausam Bada Beimaan Hai (so apt for us since we are so obsessed with the weather). We then had the wonderful Harshdeep Kaur who is soon to be launched by A R Rahman. She started off with God’s name… Ik Onkar from Rang De Basanti… a trend for her as I have seen her perform a few times. She then took the audience by storm with Jhak Maar Ke from Desi Boyz, Katiyan Karun from Rockstar and her final song Baari Barsi from Band Baaja Baraat WITH the addition of our dhol players! I was trying SO hard not to run on stage and dance so I stood backstage and danced around instead 😉

Adnan Sami

And finally it was time for the main man… a heart of gold and I’d say the most romantic person in the music industry… Adnan Sami! His spectacular performance was nothing less than fireworks exploding inside the arena. Born in London, Adnan Sami said on stage he has tooooooo much love for the UK and yes we gave all that love right back at you Adnan. What a magical performance it was! From Salaam-e-Ishq, to Bheegi Bheegi Raaton Mein, Tera Chehra and his finale song Lift Karade was exceptional. He had been away from the music scene for a few years and boy did he come back or did he come back. A musical night certainly not to be forgotten. And Adnan, if you were Wembley struck… we were Adnan Sami struck!!!

Psst! Remember Nikki Bedi interviewed him recently and asked him MissMalini’s question about his favorite lyrics?
