One of B-town’s most gorgeous divas ever, Madhuri Dixit, turns 45 today. She is the queen of a million hearts with her charisma, her radiant smile and her dream dance moves. And, we’re so glad that she’s back in Mumbai and giving movies and television another shot. What I am super excited about is her new show, Jhalak Dikhla Ja-Dancing with the Stars which has the most adorable previews.
Each preview has Mads dancing to a classic song with a twist. In one of the promos of the fifth edition of this dance reality show, the Dhak Dhak girl pays tribute to Sridevi’s sensuous look in Kaante Nahi from Mr. India. And the most gorgeous one is her tribute to Meena Kumari. Madhuri performs on her song, Thade Rahiyo and I think she looks totally stunning. I am amazed at how beautiful she looks after all these years and her energy levels are awe-inspiring.
But, what’s really keeping Mads busy is her two big movies that will mark her return to the silver screen. There’s Vishal Bharadwaj’s Dedh Ishqiya for which she starts shooting in September. Then comes Anubhav Sinha’s Gulab Gang, a touching tale about the education of the girl child.
I can’t wait to see her in an all new avatar as a judge on the dance show and everyone’s obviously waiting for her big comeback to the silver screen. Here’s wishing her all the luck in the world with her big move and we hope that she can recreate the Madhuri magic on-screen all over again.
