It’s Pierce Brosnan’s birthday today, and I couldn’t be more excited! Brosnan is known to be the fifth man to portray the role of the suave and sophisticated James Bond, and of all the Bonds he is indeed my favourite! Let’s take a walk down memory lane, and reminisce about his Bond roles.
Golden Eye (1995)
In 1986 Pierce Brosnan was originally selected to play James Bond in The Living Daylights, but a last minute renewal of his Remington Steele contract prevented this from happening. Then in 1995 he finally got his chance to play Bond in Golden Eye, which grossed over $350 million worldwide.
Tomorrow Never Dies (1997)
In 1997 Brosnan returned to star in Tomorrow Never Dies. This was also the year that he received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The film grossed $207 million.
The World Is Not Enough (1997)
In 1999 Brosnan starred in The World Is Not Enough. This was indeed a great role for him because it taps into his greater strengths as an actor portraying a role as a powerful, and also troubled man. This was is my favorite of his Bond movies. The film grossed $360 million worldwide.
Die Another Day (2002)
In 2002 Brosnan played 007 in Die Another Day (this was the franchise’s 40th anniversary). All together his four Bond films in total have grossed over $1.6 Billion in revenue worldwide!!
