I got the amazing opportunity to attend Rajasthan Fashion Week, and didn’t want to miss out on the opportunity to cover it for MissMalini. Rajasthan Fashion Week was a 3-day event (24th May to 26th May).
Although the show started uber late I immediately forgot when I saw Vivek Oberoi officially inaguarate RFW in Rohit Kamra‘s collection. Well, worth the wait… I wasn’t a huge fan of him on screen, but in person… his smile is killer (crush alert *lol*).
The show was started by Kawaljit Singh and right then, and there I fell in love! Kanwaljeet brought back 80s Bollywood glam with polka dots, hues of beautifully selected vibrant colors, and also the entire show was choreographed to old-school Bollywood music and the models danced down the runway! Definitely something different and a great start to the week.
Designer Kirti Rathore‘s showstopper was Vivek Oberoi one thing special about her is she is a huge supporter for an NGO titled, “RAYS – Aasha Ki Ek Kiran” it is an organization which is for the welfare of children who are HIV positive. Kirti and Vivek walked the ramp with these children to bring awareness to society, and ask for support.
Designer Daniel Sylem had a very original organic showcase of designs to show, and his show stopper Kainaz Motiwala did not disappoint. His pieces are 100% organic, and have a very casual look to them that you can dress up.
Designer Ashna Vaswani a Rajasthani local brought out her true genius Rajasthani roots. The models started the show off by acting as dolls), and were dressed in bright colorful sarees.
Satya Mishra and Liz Paul did an amazing job with their designs. They literally dared their levels of expertise with their choice of colors. The end was well-done with neon colors and different types of outfits on each model.
Shaahid Amir had a beautifully done line, and definitely drove the crowd wild when his show stopper Zayed Khan walked the ramp.
The show ended with Rohit Verma, and Shilpa Marigold. Each model wore a beautiful watch designed by Shilpa Marigold from her brand Marigold. Rohit Verma was truly inspired by all of the vibrant colors in the state of Rajasthan his pieces were beautifully made. Rohit Verma brought out Jessie Randhawaand Sandeep Soparkar as his show-stoppers and they looked stunning and beautiful on stage!
Rajasthan Fashion Week Day 1 honestly did not disappoint… loads of talented designers, and a star studded event.
