It is Alanis Morissettes birthday today, and I couldn’t think of a better way than to sit, listen to her albums, and select her top 5 songs. I remember growing up to her music, and can still listen to them on repeat!

Before this album Alanis Morissette released 2 dance albums under the stage name Alanis it was after this song she gained most of her fame.
2. You Oughta Know
This songs lyrics screamed pain, and anger. It is another hit song that got a lot of playtime, but it actually took Alanis a lot of courage to sing the lyrics to this song, and was quoted saying, “I thought, This is exactly how I feel, but I don’t want to hurt anybody. Glen just said, You have to do this.”
3. Thank U
An entire city block had to be shut down to shoot this video because Alanis was shooting it nude. Her long hair covered her breasts, and the rest of her private parts were digitally covered to keep the video family-friendly.
4. Uninvited
All music critics, and fans were anticipating the release of this song because it would be the first once since her 1996 Jagged Little Pill album. It ended up leaking two weeks before its release date.
5. Hands Clean
Rumor has it that this song is about a relationship Alanis had at the age of 14 with a 30-year-old man.
