Who is Himangini Singh Yadu? Sushmita Sen’s pageant prodigy at I AM She and she just bagged the Miss Asia Pacific World 2012 crown in Korea. Here are 10 things you didn’t probably know about this bombshell! And no prizes for guessing what her answer to “Do you want to do Bollywood movies?” will be :) xoxo
Miss Malini: Tell me one thing you learned from the fabulous Sushmita Sen that helped you win this contest!
Miss Himangini: There are many things that I have learned from her and there are still more that I can learn. But one thing that I would like to mention is that while I was leaving for Miss Asia Pacific World 2012 pageant I was quite nervous and I remember Ms. Sushmita Sen boosting up my confidence by saying that, “don’t be nervous just be yourself, being yourself is what will make you different and unique from other contestants”. This one statement of hers which gave me immense confidence and had eventually helped me win this contest.
MM: Who is your mentor and idol?
Ms. H: My idol is, of course, Ms. Sushmita Sen! Not just because she is my mentor and guide, but she has also been a source of inspiration for many Indian girls like me, who have aspired to be like her for more than a decade now. She rendered recognition to Indian beauty pageants at an international platform, and ever since her win at Miss Universe I have been following her and she is an inspiration to me.
In fact Ms. Sushmita Sen had groomed me personally on all aspects via extensive and detailed sessions. Apart from Ms. Sen, there was a panel of I AM She experts who groomed me for the international pageant. These experts included Ms. Pooja Makhija, Nutritionist, who made sure I ate healthy food; Dr. Trasi, Skin Care expert, who gave me tips to maintain the glow in my skin; Ms. Nupur Shikhare, Fitness Expert, who helped me get in perfect shape; Chereographers Vijayshree Chaudhry and Mrs. Chetan Barot from the team of Sandip Soparrkar, the fabulous dance experts who created a beautiful sequence for me which was a blend of Bharatnatyam and Kathak wherein I drew a Ganesh, the lord of prosperity with charcoal whilst dancing.
Additionally, there was also Ms. Svetlana Casper who trained me to perfect my walk on stage and Lubna Adams – Fashion Choreographer; Dr. Nirmala Shetty, Hair Care Expert, who gave me a great Ayurvedic treatment for healthy hair; Kryolan Makeup Make Over provided me with some very good makeup tips that helped me get an edge; Dr. Gaba, dental care expert, helped me to enhance my smile ; JCB provided me tips for different hair styles; Ms. Neeta Lulla designed the gorgeous costumes for the Talent Round and the Finale along with the dazzling evening gown put together by Anjalee and Arjun Kapoor’s collection.
MM: Do you want to do Bollywood movies? Who would be your dream co-star?
Ms. H: As of now I am not thinking of Bollywood. I am completely committed to Miss Asia Pacific World and I AM She and will be concentrating on the same.
MM: Did you make friends in the competition? Was there any b*tchy-ness and how did you handle it?
Ms. H: Yes, I have made lot many friends out here. All the contestant out here are very friendly and we had a great time here together. One good friend that I have made here is my roommate Ms. Indonesia. We both get along very well together. There is definitely tough competition here but there its healthy competition and I did not get the feeling of bitterness among the contestants.
MM: What’s your usual beauty routine?
Ms. H: There is a strict beauty routine that I have been following for months now. One essential aspect of my beauty routine is sound and adequate amount of sleep. That’s the easiest way to maintain your beauty.
MM: What do you love most about yourself?
Ms. H: I am a very positive person and I think that’s the best aspect of my personality. I am a person who follows her heart and the rest all comes naturally for me.
MM: What is your best physical feature?
Ms. H: How can I judge my physical feature and select any one to highlight. But yes people say that I have got good eyes!
MM: If you go back and change anything about yourself what would it be?
Ms. H: I trust people very easily and I have faced consequences of the same in past. This is the one thing that I would like to change about myself.
MM: If you could ask next year’s contestant their final question, what would it be?
Ms. H: What one quality do you think you have that nobody else here possesses?
MM: Now answer it :)
Ms. H: According to me the one quality that I possess and I think is important is the sense of responsibility, which would be quite essential to carry forward the name of such a renowned beauty pageant like ”I AM She” and the Miss Asia Pacific World 2012 tittle.
