Vivek Oberoi started off his career with a bang and was being touted as the next big thing – but somewhere along the way, something went wrong, and he fell by the wayside. Which is a shame, actually, because I’ve always thought he has an on-screen likability that’s very endearing. However, things may be looking up for him: it turns out, his character in Krrish 3 has been greatly developed, and is turning out to be quite the meaty role. Will this be the boon Vivek is looking for?

In Krrish 3, Vivek plays Kaal, the bad guy – and apparently, he gets as much attention on-screen as Hrithik Roshan does. The makers didn’t want to do a half-hearted job in developing his character, and thus have ensured that his character is equal to that of Hrithik’s. Here’s what director Rakesh Roshan told Mumbai Mirror:

“This time, I had to work hard on establishing Vivek’s character. He is a definite part of the franchise now. We’ve left no stone unturned to ensure it looks like a battle between equals. There’s no point in introducing an antagonist and then leaving the character half-finished. I had to justify Vivek’s presence. The story moves ahead with both of them. And Vivek has done an amazing job.”

It looks like Vivek will not only have a meaty role in this film, but may be a part of future films in the Krrish series as well. Of course, it all depends o the storyline of Krrish 3 – but it’s good to see that his character is going to be a force to be reckoned with. After all, it’s no fun if the hero wins too easily, right?
