Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan have done quite a few movies together – but the last time we saw them was over ten years ago, in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. Now it’s possible that they’ll come together again for Shoojit Sircar’s (director of Vicky Donor) new film – he’s already spoken to them, and they’ve both liked the idea. Here’s what he told TOI:
“The film is a mature relationship story of a couple. It is about how the ageing couple rediscover their love at 60. The idea is to explore how a relationship goes through both smooth and rough patches to continue for over 30 years or so.”
The scripting for the film is being done by Juhi Chaturvedi, who also wrote Vicky Donor. The first draft of the script should be complete within two weeks, after which Amitabh and Jaya will probably be approached again. Tentatively, the film is being titled Garden House, which is the name of the couple’s home.
