Five years after their marriage (they were married in November of 2006), Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are getting a divorce, with Katie being the one who filed for it. Here’s what their representatives had to say:
Katie’s rep: “This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family. Katie’s primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter’s best interest.”
Tom’s rep: “Kate has filed for divorce and Tom is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children. Please allow them their privacy to work this out.”
The couple have a daughter together, Suri, while Tom has two other children from his previous marriage. Apparently, Tom and Katie have a prenup, with their estimated net worth being around $275 million. The two were last spotted together back in February.
