I am a Bollywood fanatic and a sucker for romantic movies. Here’s a list of 10 Bollywood romance flicks I love 🙂

1. Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge

Starting with the very old, record breaking Bollywood blockbuster Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. DDLJ was produced under Yashraj Productions. This film created a history. A romantic-comedy starring Simran (Kajol) and Raj (Shahrukh Khan) it is remembered as an epitome of love. It was a typical Bollywood masala story with some witty punches, which I loved. DDLJ also remains the longest-running film in the history of India. I love it when Shahrukh calls Kajol “Senorita“. Tujhe Dekha To Ye Jana Sanam is my favorite song from the movie and I love the way it has been picturised.

2. Maine Pyaar Kiya

I was all eyes for Salman Khan in this movie. He looked really cute! Maine Pyaar Kiya is a Rajshri Production film and gave Salman a new name “Prem”. The name itself sounds so romantic just like the story-line. Kabutar Ja is one of the very famous songs from the movie. I don’t know why, but I really loved watching it. Salman I Love You 🙂

3. Kucch Kucch Hota Hai

OMG, I’ve watched this movie like 53 times. I cannot resist! Kucch Kucch Hota Hai was produced by Yash Johar and I was 5 years old when it released. I still remember I cried like crazy when Anjali (Shah Rukh’s daughter in the movie) cries while reading letters from her mom. Even today I need to grab a tissue when I watch. The story of their college life is really funny. Shah Rukh loves chasing girls, Kajol loves playing basketball and Rani Mukherjee loves Shah Rukh wow! 🙂 ALL In all it’s a lovable film.

4. Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham

Undoubtedly, I am obsessed with Shah Rukh Khan and his movies. Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham is a Dharma Production film. K3G was appreciated by audiences due to its combination of drama, romance and Masala. I was so in love Kajol’s role in the movie and loved the way she says tussi toh bade mazakiya ho. She plays a girl from chandni-chowk, full of fun. I just love her chemistry with Shah Rukh, the jokes and their unconditional love. Kareena Kapoor’s performance was also appreciated by the audiences. Bole Chudiya, Sooraj Hua Maddham, Shaava Shaava are songs I love from the movie.

5. Jab We Met

Tumse hi din hota hai, yes this was the case for me after watching this movie. I watched it at a stretch for 7 days in a row every morning. Haha… yes it’s true. I went bonkers over the film. The characters in the movie were very practical and the film was Kareena’s biggest hit. Her character in the movie, “Geet” was appreciated by the critics and audiences in India as well as overseas. She added spark to the film almost insanely so sometimes! Whereas, Shahid Kapoor played a businessmen with no fun in his life. The characters in the movie are poles apart, but they end up loving each other. Locations of the film are adorable too. Tumse Hi, Ye Ishq Haye, Aoge Jab are my 3 very favorite songs from the movie 🙂

6. I Hate Luv Storys

I love luv stories! 🙂 Dharma productions come up with some of the finest romantic stories. I Hate Luv Storys is romantic-comedy. I am a Sonam Kapoor fan and never miss any of her movies. But I fell in love with Imran Khan’s Jai Dhingra character in the movie. He’s funny, stupid and turns out to be a romantic in the end. Sonam Kapoor (Simran) and Sameer Dattani (Raj) were named after the Bollywood Blockbuster DDLJ. And the movie did create some magic, I love each and every song in the movie but Bahara is the one I heart 🙂

7. Wake Up Sid

This film is ironic and I lose my mind when I watch it. I am so in love with it that I bought two DVDs just in case one stops working :D. I love Konkana Sen Sharma‘s (Aisha) and Ranbir Kapoor‘s (Siddharth Mehra) chemistry. Two good friends turn lovers and for the longest time don’t even realise that they love each other. Ranbir looks too cute when he cries after leaving his home and Ayan Mukherjee (the director) couldn’t have gotten a better girl than Konkana to play Aisha’s role. She did justice to her role as a simple, independant girl with her own take on life. A lovely story with lovely music Iktara is a soul-stirring song. Just love it 🙂

8. Anjaana Anjaani

The Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra starrer Anjaana Anjaani was produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The film had a different story-line where two strangers bent on committing suicide meet and then destiny takes its course. Ranbir and Priyanka make a great pair because their chemistry is outstanding. I love the journey they take together. The movie has humour, emotion and romance and I personally quite like the movie.Tumse hi, Tujhe Bhula Diya are the songs I love from the movie 🙂

9. Rockstar

And by now you must have realised that I am a Shah Rukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor fan! Rockstar the most appreciated film of the year 2011 was directed by Imtiaz Ali. Imtiaz truely knows what audiences want. Ranbir Kapoor and Narghis Fakhri gave their 100% in this movie which is a story with unconditional romance. Jordan’s (Ranbir Kapoor) love towards Heer (Narghis) is portrayed really well. Ranbir looks really funny when he plays a college guy Janardan Jhakad. His first love is music and second, Heer. All the songs in the movie are to die for. It’s a well-scripted story with lots and lots of romance 🙂

10.Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu

A Dharma Productions film that got mixed reviews, but I quite liked it. A fresh Bollywood jodi was seen in this movie i.e. Kareena Kapoor (Riana Briganza) and Imran Khan (Rahul Kapoor). Kareena really looked fresh and hippy in the movie. Her character was some-what like the one in Jab We Met, but I liked it. Imran Khan was a geek in the movie. The film was rumoured to be copied from a Hollywood flick What Happens In Vegas but claimed to be different. They do one of the most unpractical things in the world – get drunk and get married, who does that?! I personally like the film because of Imran and Kareena’s chemistry. Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, and Aunty ii are the songs I love in the movie… 🙂
