The Web Is What You Make Of It

Have you seen this Google Chrome Tanjore campaign? It is part of a series is called “The Web Is What You Make of It” and Google is celebrating the power of the internet by bringing the dying art of “Tanjore” paintings back to life! Did You Know? This form of art has originated in 1600 AD and they used real gold foil to ensure that the paintings last generations! Time to check that locker just in case your ancestors have left you any?

I’m mighty impressed with the way Google has used this real-life story of G. Rajendran, an artist from Tamil Nadu, who used the internet to become a successful businessman by selling paintings online. Such an innovative method of  advertising Google Chrome, Ad Words, Google Plus and various other Google Apps – all in one! Watch this video and tell us what you think in the comments below.
