Vogue India July 2012
Diana Penty for Vogue India July 2012

With the release of Cocktail this month, it made perfect sense to feature its debutante actress Diana Penty on the cover. The actress and former model was shot by London-based photographer Luis Monteiro at the Four Seasons Hotel in Maldives.

On the cover Penty wears a stunning sexy Emilio Pucci number. (Could she be any more stunning?) For her editorial she was styled by Vogue Fashion Director Anaita Shroff-Adajania who’s husband Homi Adajania directed the film. In the magazine she talks about her unique surname, hating heels and her favourite city. Read a few excerpts of her interview with Renuka Joshi Modi below:

Pentys are few and far between: “I’ve heard every obvious joke on the name by now, so I make sure I spell it out,” says Penty about her unusual surname.

New York is her kind of town: “Until I’d met the Big Apple, London was my favorite city in the world. New York was a life-changing experience. I did a couple of modeling stints there. It’s the kind of city where no matter where you’re from, how old you are or what you do, you always find your own little spot.”

She’s a self-confessed foodie: “It’s in my genes to eat—my mum is Goan and my father was half-Parsi.” She does admit, though, that while she loves her food, she hates cooking!”

She hates high heels:  The 5ft10in beauty hates high heels and confesses her addiction for chappals.

Diana Penty’s travelling essentials: She says “Sunglasses, a good lip balm, Dermalogica sun block, Chanel Chance Perfume, Maybelline Bronzer and hand sanitizer are must haves essentials for me.”
