I love my girl Anushka for so many reasons, and things like this remind me why I do. She rescued 6 puppies a few days ago and is trying to help them find loving homes. a) They’re adorable b) They’ll love you to the end of the earth c) They’re paper trained! Enough said. xoxo

I found these puppies dumped by someone in a gunny bag on the pavement in Bandra. On the side of a road which has just been fixed and has no speed breakers, so cars were whizzing past at full speed. There were two running across the road and I swerved to miss them.

They were drenched because of the rain. They were cold and shivering and starved. And poor things, their mother was not even with them. We asked around the area and everyone said they hadn’t seen these pups before that morning, so they’d probably been brought there from some building where their mother must have had them, to be gotten rid of.

They are currently in a doggy creche for the time being and it costs 900rs a day for the care of all 6 pups. So we’re trying to find them homes and fast because the Save Our Strays guys say the only other option is to put them back out there on the road and I just caaaaaant!

The day I found them there were so many people who stopped to help… but all of whom already have dogs and cats. So we’ve had to take them to the creche. They have been cleaned and de-wormed, de-flead, and will be vaccinated in 3 days. (They are each about 2 months old.)

If you’re sitting beside them, they all come up and try to snuggle into your lap somehow… they’re really adorable. Indian dogs are very smart, intelligent and loyal. Especially the females. They are full of love, and can be fixed later to avoid any “woman problems” it’s tough to get the females adopted so these things are important - Save Our Strays will “fix” them for you free of charge in 4 months. And they are already paper trained! They go “toilet” on the paper and not all over your house :)
