Unexpectedly Dimple Kapadia and Anju Mahendru (who Rajesh Khanna dated for 7 years) seem to get along just fine. At Aashirwaad where the legend passed away on wednesday morning Dimple and Tina were spotted wearing white salwaar-kurtas, while Anju was in a black top and tights consoling Tina.
An eyewitness reveals, “Dimple and Anju are in this together. In fact they planned everything together from what flowers to keep at the funeral to the entire event.” On lookers were surprised to see the two bonding and getting along despite their prior differences.
Though his female fans wrote letters in blood to him and covered his car with lipstick marks, Rajesh Khanna’s first love was actress Anju Mahendru.
As per Mid Day the then aspiring actress Anju Mahendru was Kaka’s girlfriend from 1966 to 1972, but they broke up in 1972, allegedly because Anju was not ready for marriage. Rajesh Khanna later married his fan girl Dimple Kapadia in March 1973, 8 months before Raj Kapoor’s Bobby released in theaters.
Dimple Kapadia was only 16 years old and they separated in the mid-’80s, after which Tina Munim entered his life. She was half his age but their on-screen chemistry proved to be successful. This made them close and soon they were romantically involved. Unlike other couples, they never tried to hide their relation. They announced that they were in love with and even shared a toothbrush!
