ITC Fiama Di Wills recently hosted a bloggers’ meet with their brand ambassador, Deepika Padukone, so we all got to ask her a bunch of questions about her skincare, beauty and workout regime. And can I just say, this lady is flawless and has beautiful skin. She wears minimal makeup but still glows, so of course when she starts talking beauty and skincare, you have to sit up and take notice – if only to steal some tips for yourself!

So here’s DP talking about her awesome skin, her favourite makeup, and getting that luminous glow for her Cocktail bikini shoot.

For skincare, Deepika operates by a few simple rules. She makes sure she’s always hydrated – Deepika quipped she hydrates with water and not other substances, just like her Cocktail character, Veronica! Since her job involves makeup all the time, she ensures that she takes it all off properly. And most importantly, she believes in having a balanced diet – crash diets are a no-no according to her since they mess with your hormones… and that’s where most of our skin issues start!

Deepika mentioned that she’d prefer ensuring overall skincare, instead of depending on makeup. However, she does have her favourites. She’s a big fan of bright red lipstick and wishes she could wear it all the time, especially paired with liner. If she goes heavy on the liner (think Om Shanti Om) then she goes for nude and pinkish lips – she also loves coral. And her makeup must-have is mascara, because she thinks it makes her eyes just pop.

For fitness, she tries never to miss a workout. According to her, even if she has an early shoot, she’d rather lose half an hour of sleep and just do a twenty-minute workout – she thinks it gives her more energy than the half an hour extra of sleep would. That’s what she’s been doing for Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani; they’ve been shooting long hours but she always makes it a point to hit the gym, otherwise she turns crabby.

It was great to hang out with Deepika and hear what she had to say, she really is lovely in person so it was an awesome chat and we definitely enjoyed it. Some lucky winners even got to win a hamper by Fiama Di Wills, which DP presented to them at an event. She also had a fun chat with MissMalini!
