We recently got a chance to catch up with Sussanne Roshan, who was working in collaboration with Architectural Digest to launch their first AD Magical Spaces. Magical Spaces is an initiative to “dress up” unexpected places in the city, for which they will work with a different designer each time – and Sussanne was the first one. She put together this space at Palladium in Lower Parel, using items from her store, The Charcoal Project – check out all the elements and let us know if you like what she’s done!

PS. She said this set-up was inspired by the romance of the monsoon, so we asked her how you can achieve the same look in your own home!

She called the exhibit “Burgundy Sorbet” and the main point was to create a very inviting area where you can snuggle up with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. She made the leather sofa and Ottoman table herself, as well as the huge brass ‘C’ which she claims is her favourite piece in the set.

We also spoke with the editor of Architectural Digest, Manju Sara Rajan, who told us that AD Magical Spaces was about recreating interesting and aspirational parts of the home with some of the best interior designers – which is why they picked Sussanne’s The Charcoal Project for the first initiative.
