Kareena Kapoor‘s Heroine trailer has been received with mostly positive reviews, and has perhaps succeeded in creating more anticipation for the film. However, there is something in the trailer that does not go down too well with a certain group of people – and apparently the potential for offending them is getting Madhur Bhandarkar extremely upset, so much so that he’s considering changes in the film.

Remember the line in the trailer when Kareena mouths off, “God forbid Dubai gayi, toh uska rate card ban jaata hai”? According to Mirror, the media in Dubai has not taken that statement too well – they believe Bhandarkar is being ignorant and stereotyping Dubai. On the other hand, Bhandarkar has done good business in Dubai before, and has previously been honoured there for his films. So, of course, he’s wary of hurting them – and has decided to make some alterations. Starting Saturday, a modified trailer will be aired sans the offending statement, and plans are also being put in place to edit the scene in the movie – either by beeping it out or dubbing something over it. These changes will apply only to film screenings in Dubai, so if you’re watching it elsewhere, you shouldn’t notice any changes.
