I have to say, he’s definitely one of my favourite filmmakers, so keeping tabs on Imtiaz Ali‘s work becomes very important for me – I’m always on the lookout for any new work he might be doing! And, currently, he’s working on a script.
It’s possible that the film may be a short film – at a recent event, he admitted he’s inclined to make short films, and believes that they’re gaining more popularity. At the same time, he believes that there is no set rule in making films and that the process is all heart – you can only write what your heart tells you, instead of just deciding a genre and going along with it. So we’ve gotta wonder what his heart is telling him now, because we’re very curious about what the next film is gonna be – enlighten us, please, Imtiaz?
PS I remember this interview he gave some years ago saying that, if given the chance, he would completely overhaul Jab We Met because so much of it was faulty. I actually can’t believe that because JWM is very high up on my list of favourites. Do you agree with him?
