GaGa by Tanya Sharma was one of the shows I was hotly anticipating. I had fallen in love with her previous offering at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2012 and couldn’t wait to see what else was in store this time around. I’m happy to admit, I wasn’t disappointed.

The collection saw a heady mix of androgyny and Indian motifs and embroidery such a chikan and kasab work. The sheer trend played a big part in this line, with a healthy dosage of net fabric thrown in. Another great element to her collection were the brocade wedges that complemented the ensembles perfectly. Yellows, burnt oranges, blues and neons formed the basis of her colour selection.

Upbeat music which included Azealia Banks’s hit song 212 set the tone for this young, fresh collection. The tailoring was crisp and clean and I love that she adds the Indian elements that blend seamlessly into her clothes. If I were you, I would certainly keep an eye on her. Like her collection?
