The student-teacher relationship in Bollywood has been well explored – in some films it takes the center focus (Black), while in others it provides the backdrop for the story. We’ve all had some great teachers in our lives, so to celebrate Teacher’s Day let’s have a look at 5 of Bollywood’s best teachers in recent times.
1. The Teacher That Made a Difference: Ram Shankar Nikumbh from Taare Zameen Par.
When we look back on our lives, most of us can pinpoint that one teacher who had the greatest impact on our lives, and who (at least in some way) shaped the persons we are today. For Ishaan Awasthi (Darsheel Safary in Taare Zameen Par), that teacher would be Aamir Khan‘s character.

Some teachers will teach you things above and beyond the constraints of the classroom walls – and for the boys at Gurukul, Shah Rukh Khan‘s character taught them everything from music to eternal love to following your heart.
5. The Authoritarian Teacher: Viru “Virus” Sahastrabudhhe from 3 Idiots.
We all had that one teacher in school who would scare the crap out of us, but who we’d still always make fun of given the opportunity. Boman Irani‘s Virus from 3 Idiots fits that bill perfectly.
