The contestants of I Am She 2012

Sushmita Sen was the first woman of Indian origin to win the Miss Universe Pageant. She has acted in over 30 films, and has received numerous awards from Filmfare, IIFA, Star Screen, Zee Cine, and the Rajiv Gandhi award for achievement in Bollywood. Ms. Sen is a proud mother of two, and founder of I AM She – Miss Universe, which each year crowns a winner to represent India at the global Miss Universe Pageant. Sushmita is originally from Hyderabad, and is thrilled to bring I AM She 2012 to her home town.

Namaste!

This is a very happy Sushmita Sen, writing to you all from Leonia Holistic Resort, in the dynamic city of Hyderabad. I’m here to present to you all, the next Indian representative to Miss Universe 2012.

Now, that is one big big responsibility. But as Margaret Fuller aptly said, “If you have knowledge, let others light their candle in it.”

A fabulous team of mentors (and your’s truly) will dedicate ourselves to finding India the most deserving representative to Miss Universe. It’s never easy, but my team of groomers make it possible. Given the talent we have in India, we are always left amazed and spell bound!

We aim to hone the overall personality of each contestant and so we start with the outer core and work our way to their minds. At the end of their training sessions, we see them get an enhanced view of life. Their perspectives change, and you can tell they look at themselves and the world in a different light. It is the best feeling in the world, to see these girls transform into such poised and beautiful people.

We have Dr. Trasi with skin, Dr. Gaba for dental expertise, and Dr. Nirmala Shetty to ensure the candidates have perfect crowning glory. With the privilege of their expertise, our candidates have impeccable smiles, skin and hair. We also have on board, ace nutritionist Pooja Makhija, with Nupur Shikhare and Israr Khan for fitness training. At I AM She, we don’t want to create clones, but fitness is the essence of life, and our fitness lessons will stay with the girls long after the pageant.

Now it’s time for me to go for our choreography sessions with choreographer Imran Khan. I will write to you again with more on that in my next post. Until then… laugh, pray, love and be good.
